PlayMaker

Questions, answered

What is PlayMaker?

PlayMaker is a digital scouting platform.

Players build a profile with video and performance data. Clubs and scouts search it, compare players and make contact directly.

The point: whether someone sees you should not depend on who you happen to know.

What does PlayMaker do for a player?

As a player:

๐Ÿ“น Upload your highlights
๐Ÿ“Š Get comparable performance figures
๐Ÿ“ฃ See open calls from clubs and apply to them
๐Ÿ’ฌ Reply to scouts who message you

Free for players โ€” permanently.

What does PlayMaker do for a scout or a club?

As a scout or club:

๐Ÿ” Filter by position, age, country and performance
๐Ÿ“ฃ Post an open call and let players who fit apply
๐Ÿ“‹ Keep a watchlist, write match reports, share dossiers
๐Ÿ’ฌ Contact players directly

You need to be verified before you see players or send a message.

Is PlayMaker really free for clubs?

A club account is free: import your squad from a spreadsheet, and confirm your own players' figures.

Confirmed figures are worth more than self-reported ones, so your players benefit immediately โ€” and so does everyone reading them.

You can also send a claim code to a player so they take over their own profile.

What does PlayMaker cost?

For players: free. Profile, uploads, applications and visibility cost nothing.

For professional users:
โ€ข Base โ€” โ‚ฌ40/month
โ€ข Ascend โ€” โ‚ฌ89/month
โ€ข Prestige โ€” โ‚ฌ149/month
โ€ข Elite โ€” priced on request

Clubs confirming their own squad have a permanently free account. Prices include 20% VAT for consumers; businesses are invoiced net.

Note: there is no checkout yet โ€” these are the prices planned for launch.

How do the free trial, invoices and cancelling work?

Trial: 30 days, full access, and it does not renew into a paid plan by itself.

Invoices are issued for every payment. You can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the period you paid for ends.

Playing a summer or winter season only? A plan can be paused for the break instead of cancelled.

How do I sign up, and how old do I have to be?

Signing up takes about a minute:

๐Ÿ“ Name, email, date of birth
๐Ÿ‘ค Player, scout, or club โ€” each asks for what its own side needs
โœ… Accept the terms and the privacy policy

Players are in straight away. Scouts and clubs are checked by a person first, and hear back by email.

Minimum age is 14. Under 18 you also need a guardian's consent.

Can I look around before creating an account?

Yes โ€” open /demo and you are straight into a fully populated account, as a player or as a scout.

No signup, no password. Everything in there is sample data.

How is a player rating calculated?

A rating comes from your match data, weighted for the position you play โ€” a keeper is not graded on interceptions.

Two things worth being clear about:

โ€ข It is an estimate, not a verdict on your ability.
โ€ข No machine decides whether a club contacts you. That is always a person.

You can object to the analysis at any time in your settings.

Where do the performance figures come from, and who checks them?

Every figure carries where it came from: entered by the player, confirmed by their club, or imported from a federation source.

Confirmed figures count for more than self-reported ones, and a metric nobody recorded is treated as unknown โ€” never as a zero.

Clubs can confirm their own squad free of charge.

How do I upload my highlights?

Uploading highlights:

1. Sign in and open "Upload"
2. Drag in a file, or sync from a camera such as Veo
3. Add a title and a category
4. Confirm you hold the rights to the footage

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 200 MB per clip.

How does the video feed work, and who can see my clips?

Clips appear in the feed โ€” full screen, one after another, and never cropped: a wide tactical shot is letterboxed rather than cut.

Scouts can collect clips into a playlist and share it by link with someone who has no account.

Your video is only visible while your profile is.

What are match reports and dossiers?

Scouts write match reports from the touchline โ€” offline, on a phone, and they never feed a rating.

Several reports can be collected into a dossier and shared by link with a sporting director who has no account. The link expires and every opening is logged.

A player never sees what was written about them โ€” only how often they were watched.

How do open calls and applications work?

A verified scout or club can post an open call: position, age range, level, what they are offering, and when it closes.

Players who fit the criteria see it on their dashboard and can apply in one tap, with a short note.

The club sees the applicants ranked against its own brief. Under 18, a guardian has to have countersigned first.

How do I tell clubs I am available?

You can tell clubs whether you are available โ€” actively looking, willing to listen, or settled where you are.

It expires after 120 days, so nobody rings you about a declaration you made last season. Under 18 it needs a guardian's countersignature.

It nudges you up a scout's list; it is not a filter that hides anybody.

Can the assistant fill my profile in for me?

Filling in a profile properly takes a while. The profile assistant does it by conversation instead: say it in your own words โ€” or dictate it โ€” and it fills the form.

Nothing is saved until you have read each field and confirmed it. It proposes; you decide.

A few turns are free for everyone. Beyond that it is a paid add-on for players.

Can I write to a scout first?

A scout can mark themselves open to approaches. They appear in a short directory that players can browse, with what they are looking for.

Players may then write to them first โ€” a few new conversations a week, so an open door does not become an inbox nobody reads.

It can be switched off again at any time.

Who is allowed to message whom?

Scouts approach players. A verified scout may open a conversation with a player whose profile is visible; the player replies or does not.

Players cannot cold-message scouts โ€” with one exception: a scout may open their door, and then players may write first.

Either side can block, and a block is permanent unless it is lifted.

How do you check that a scout is genuine?

Scouts and clubs pass two gates, not one:

1. Approval, which lets them sign in at all
2. Verification, which lets them see players and send messages

Verification is a person reading real evidence โ€” the club's own domain, a licence number, a role that can be checked. Anyone messaging a player has been through it.

How do I report or block someone?

Every message has a report and a block on it, and neither asks you for a reason first.

A report reaches a person, not a queue that nobody reads. Blocking closes the conversation in both directions permanently.

When the person reported is under 18, their guardian is told.

What happens if the player is under 18?

Under 18, a guardian is part of it:

โœ… They consent at signup, by name and email
๐Ÿ“ง They are told the first time a scout makes contact
โœ๏ธ They must countersign before the player can be shown as available to clubs

Guardians get their own overview page โ€” no account needed โ€” and can withdraw at any time.

What happens to my personal data?

Your data stays yours.

๐Ÿ‘€ You decide whether your profile is visible to scouts, and can withdraw that at any time
๐Ÿ“„ You can request access, an export or deletion at any time
๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ Hosted in the EU, no tracking, no advertising, never sold

Details are in the privacy policy at /datenschutz.

How do I export or delete my data?

In Settings โ†’ Data you can:

๐Ÿ“ค Download everything we hold about you, as a file
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Delete your account, which deletes the profile, the clips and the messages
๐Ÿ”• Turn individual emails off without leaving

You can also just write to us and ask โ€” the address is on /impressum.

Is there an API?

Programmatic access is part of the Prestige plan: read-only, over the same permissions as the interface.

It never returns a player who has not made their profile visible, and never contact details.

Details are at /api-access.

Which languages does PlayMaker speak?

The product speaks six languages: English, German, Serbian, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Change it in the header, any time.

Legal documents stay in German and English โ€” German is the binding version for Austrian law.

Is there a PlayMaker app?

There is no separate app to install, and you do not need one โ€” PlayMaker is built for a phone browser first, because that is where players actually use it.

Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app: Share โ†’ Add to Home Screen on iPhone, โ‹ฎ โ†’ Install on Android.

Uploading video, recording match reports and everything else works the same way.

Which countries does PlayMaker work in?

Anyone can sign up from anywhere, and the product speaks six languages.

Being honest about the rest: the clubs and scouts using it are concentrated in Austria today, with Germany and Switzerland next. A player in Portugal can build a full profile, but there are fewer people looking there yet.

That changes region by region, and we would rather tell you than let you find out.

I cannot sign in, or I want to change my password. What do I do?

Forgot your password: open /forgot-password and we send you a reset link. It is valid for one hour.

Changing it: Settings โ†’ Account, once you are signed in.

If you are locked out and the reset email does not arrive, check the spam folder first, then write to us โ€” we can tell you whether an account with that address exists.

Who is behind PlayMaker, and is it a real company?

PlayMaker is built by PM Sports, a company in Vienna, Austria.

The full legal details โ€” who runs it, where it is registered, how to reach a person โ€” are on /impressum, because Austrian law requires them and because you should be able to check.

It is a small team. If you write to us, one of us answers.
